New Toyota Levin from China: Status, Storage and Handover
New should be a defined condition in the agreement, not a substitute for production and registration evidence. Identify the exact Levin, its history in storage and the preparation you expect before deciding whether the offer meets your new-car requirement.

Define new and identify the version
Ask for build records, factory designation and registration history. Distinguish unregistered stock, a registered demonstrator and a very-low-mileage used car. Current Levin L Hybrid is not the same specification as every earlier stock vehicle. The definition accepted in the purchase agreement should match the facts supplied; advertising wording alone does not establish destination treatment. Do not assume all earlier production periods remain available as newly built cars.
Check storage rather than relying on mileage
Have an appropriate inspector assess the body finish, tyres, fluids, 12-volt system and electronic functions. Record how the car was held and any preparation, replacement or repair performed. A very low odometer reading does not erase time-related condition. For a conventional hybrid, obtain appropriate system checks without attempting high-voltage work yourself. Explain identified issues and how they will be addressed before release rather than treating new as proof that every component is ready.

Demonstrate the features you are buying
Confirm the supplied keys, grade, screen language, phone connectivity and required cabin equipment on the selected VIN. Separate factory functions from accessories and region-dependent services. Do not accept another car demonstration as evidence for the one being delivered. Ask for the final equipment and preparation record alongside the agreement. If a required feature remains unavailable or uncertain, resolve the requirement before handover instead of assuming a future update will supply it.
Document support and acceptance
Obtain written warranty applicability, responsible support party and relevant exclusions for the destination. Do not assume manufacturer cover transfers internationally. Agree inspection arrangements, discrepancy handling and the handover point, with the completed pre-delivery record retained. Compare prices on equivalent condition and delivery terms. A newer-looking advertisement is not enough to outweigh an unclear registration history or unavailable proof of the claimed equipment.
